What We Do

Little Bird Music, located in Truckee, California, offers lessons in piano, percussion, guitar, ukulele, voice, band instruments, music theory, and composition. We work with students of all ages, nurturing both a deep love of music and a lifelong joy of learning.

Our approach balances strong musical foundations—technique, note reading, performance, theory, and ear training—with creativity and self-expression, empowering each student to explore and follow their own unique musical path.

At the heart of Little Bird is a team of dedicated, highly trained teachers who bring both professionalism and warmth to their work. With years of teaching experience and university-level training in music, they are committed to creating an environment that is both joyful and grounded in musical excellence.

Little Bird Music is a member of the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Students may participate in Certificate of Merit, Composers Today, Piano Concerto Competitions, and the National Guild Auditions. Contact us for more information about these programs.

During the summer, Little Bird Music presents Music & Culture and Jazz Improvisation Summer Camps. Summer camp students have the opportunity to learn about Western and non-Western music traditions, jazz, film music, and popular music as expressions of society and culture.
